Orlando Photography Studio ~ The “Official” Open House

Open House at the new studio……Carnival Style!!!! We have been working hard on renovating two historic train cars in our hometown of Oviedo, Florida, into a beautiful gallery and office as well as a full functioning studio space. So what better way to show it off than have a big old party to “officially” open the doors to our new train car studio. We were happy to see over 100 clients, other wedding vendors, business partners, friends and neighbors show up to help celebrate our new digs. The mayor of Oviedo, and several city council members, even stopped by to check it out and help with the ribbon cutting ceremony. We are so thankful to everybody that helped make the event the talk of the town. This studio is truly a work of art in itself and Cristy and I are excited to share it with the world. My good friend and doula Maggie sent this link to me.. it was quite eye opening and I had never seen it before. I’m really pushing myself to learn more things to be more “green” everyday. It’s important to me to do whatever I can for myself and my family to make an impact on our contribution to landfills, and not throw out and waste so much. This is a photo montage about plastic bags… it was quite scary really, and I found it important enough to share with you all here.

We have bought fabric Publix bags that we carry in our cars and use when we go to the store. They are HUGE and work really great, are much stronger and can hold much more than any plastic bag could. Best thing is they are only a buck a piece, so really in the long run it’s well worth the money to get a bunch and keep them in our cars. If we all did this little thing it would help A LOT!

Now you really know I am…lol! A client and friend of mine Nandi turned me onto Elimination Communication (EC) with babies. I had heard about it previously, but always couldn’t believe that people could do this. She told me to give it a try so we did. EC basically means that you are teaching your baby to do their potty business on the potty and not in their diaper by listening to their cues and knowing when they need to go. I tried the first morning and WOW, she went right on cue. We’ve been doing it just over a week now and she is totally getting it. It’s so wild to see a 7 month old on the potty!! But if I can eliminate a few diapers a day I’m all for it! So far so good, had to share these funny photos of her. Reminds me of her daddy, chillin on the potty with her book. HA! Poor child is going to be tortured with these someday when she gets older I’m sure![[Show as slideshow]]

Ahhhhh NO MORE unwanted phone books!!!

Someone from my moms group forwarded this information on so I thought I would post it since I found it helpful. We get WAY too many phone books at our house. It seems like once a month we get a series of phone books delivered to our door which I NEVER use. I will always jump on the computer first to look up a phone number when I need it. Here’s a link that will send out your information to the companies in your area so that you stop receiving unwanted phone books. Click HERE to access this website and it will remove your name from the lists. Hope this helps someone!!
