Our clients often ask how we work together, who gets what shots, etc. So our friend Margie came up this past weekend to help us shoot Heather & John’s engagement session. She also got some shots of us working together! We always get shots of each other working, but we’ve never gotten some of us in the same photo together, so this was pretty cool! I had to share these! Thank you to Margie for capturing this for us, and thank you to Heather & John for allowing the “paparazzi” to follow you for the day!

Kate I use center weighted. And you’ll need to be above F6.3 or so to get everyone in focus. Easy trick is to take the number of heads and that will be your f stop. Ex… 8 heads, F8. I’d never go below 5.6 for a group shot though. You also need to stand back and then zoom in. Hope that helps!
those are so cool! Love the set up shots and pull backs.
Can I ask you a question? I am having trouble getting everyone in the image in focus. I did 3 kids yesterday and one of them is always out of focus. I have their heads on the same plane. I was playing with my focus options on my camera think I might have switched to the wrong setting. Do you use center weighted or evaluted?
thanks for the help.
Thanks Tiffany!
