So WOW! I went to Michelle and Dustin’s baby shower yesterday. My midwife Kelli hosted the most awesome baby shower I have ever been to. I could bet there were over 100 people there, and the food… gosh the food was beyond amazing. Kelli’s hubby Bruce is quite the Chef! YUM! About a half hour into the shower Dustin pulls me aside and says he needs to talk to me privately. Feeling like I was in trouble and going to the principals office, we walked around the corner…lol. He then tells me he bought Michelle a ring and wanted to propose. I think to myself, awesome when so I can make sure I am there to capture it for them… thinking it would be sometime this week or something. He says NOW, TODAY… and I instantly got chills and goosebumps (and still do now as I sit here typing about it! LOL!).
So about an hour later Kelli gets up to say thank you to the guests for coming, and has Michelle sitting on a chair next to her. She asks if Michelle would like to say anything, Michelle says thank you for coming, and felt quite put on the spot I’m sure. Kelli asks if Dustin wants to say anything, he says yes he does and he has a poem he wants to read for Michelle… she is STILL totally clueless! He starts to read the poem, and Michelle is just beaming… I don’t think it hit her until the very end WHAT the poem meant… he got on one knee… then it hit her, and the look on her face was priceless. He pulled out the ring, and I think she was still in shock! He asked her for forever, and of course she said YES! They kissed, and kissed, and kissed some more… (they ARE quite good at that…lol).
So WOW, what a baby shower that was! I’m so excited for them!! Congrats guys! You two are so cute together and so in love. I can’t wait to meet your baby girl and watch you guys move forward with your path in life. You are both awesome people and I’m thrilled to have been there to catch this moment for you! Cheers to making more beautiful memories in the weeks, months, and years to come! Here’s a few photos to share the big moment!
